Refreshing bookalicio.us

I just finished doing an UI refresh on Pam’s bookalicio.us. If you’re into reading you should definitely check out her site!

Here’s what we worked on:

• Allow the frontpage to have more diverse content rather than just the latest post. This was needed because the site now has more than just reviews. There are interviews, news pieces and book blog entries. The reviews still have the most prominent spot on the frontpage.
• Clean up the cluttered sidebar that had too much stuff in it. We did this by moving the main menu and RSS feed links to the top of the page.
• Create a special space to highlight an entry on the site. We have chosen to create a special area in the header in which any content can be featured / linked.
• Custom layouts for tag archive pages, search pages and category archives.

I’m personally very happy with what we achieved in just one weekend and the site looks better than ever! The site has never looked this good!
